Old Traditions - the new EP

On December 10 we've released Old Traditions, a new EP featuring two songs about the holidays. Like Listen, the Snow Is Falling, the EP highlights the more introspective side of the band.

Available at our store and on Bandcamp.

On stage again

After fourteen months we'll be playing before an audience again, starting at De Nieuwe Anita in our hometown Amsterdam. After that, we'll also do shows in The Hague, Haarlem, Wormerveer and at the Christmas Stomp festival (see agenda for details).

We hope to see you there!

Have we got a video?

Yes, we got a video! Magieke Jansen made one for the song Infralight, taken from our new album Status Seeking. Check it out here.

Status Seeking - out today!

Finally - our new record Status Seeking is released today! Available at our store, Bandcamp, Concerto in Amsterdam, and of course this weekend during our gigs at Cinetol and Humanity House.

It already got some enthousiastic reviews from Bluesbunny, MNPR Magzine, The Sleeping Shaman and others. Fluf, on the other hand, thought the record - despite the tasty looking vinyl - was "uneatable".

Status Seeking

Like we mentioned earlier, our new album Status Seeking will be released on September 4! Saskia screen-printed the sleeves herself and it will be available in a numbered edition of 350 copies. You can pre-order the LP right now at our store and on Bandcamp, where you can listen to False Flag, another new song.

On September 5 we will present the album in Cinetol in Amsterdam with BUG. Due to the current situation, it’s necessary to buy tickets in advance.

Hope to see you all at Cinetol!

New single + Gigantic Bicycle Festival

Today we released Dark Dream, the first single off our new album. It's available for free on Bandcamp. Check it out! The album itself will finally be released on September 4 (more news about that soon).

On August 1 the premiere took place of us doing a live set for the Gigantic Bicycle Festival (you can still watch it on YouTube or in our video section).

Labasheeda 2020

The crowdfuding campaign has been a succes, and we are planning to release the new album at the end March. The LP is titled Status Seeking and will contain twelve songs.

A lot of work still needs to be done, but it's going to be something special...

crowdfunding + upcoming (radio)shows

Yesterday we've started our campaign at Voor de Kunst to raise funds to release our new album, Status Seeking. If you want to help us out, just follow this link. Thanks in advance!

In the meantime we'll be doing some shows in Amsterdam and Wormerveer; the first time we play as a full band since November 2015! Danielle Pijpers will be on drums, and Renato Cannavacciuolo will join us on bass during the last part of the set. Of course, we will play a lot of songs from the new LP.

31 October @ OCCII - Amsterdam
7 November (9.00 p.m.) @ Live & Puur - Jottem!, Wormerveer (radio show with audience)

Back in the studio

Last Friday we have been recording The Clash song Deny with producer/engineer Ryan Hadlock for the forthcoming compilation Hearts & Minds & Crooked Beats. Old friend and multi-instrumentalist Wim Elzinga joined us on banjo for the occassion.

It was great to work with Ryan and we are very proud of the results!

Benefiting the International Rescue Committee, Hearts & Minds & Crooked Beats will feature bands and visual artists who created work inspired by The Clash and celebrating their music and human rights message.

The album will be released as a limited edition LP & as a digital download on World Refugee Day, June 20, 2020.

And that is not all, as we’ve also resumed working on a new Labasheeda record with Jan Schenk. Stay tuned!

Release party + other upcoming gigs

This Saturday there will be a Changing Lights release party at De Nieuwe Anita in Amsterdam. The line-up also features The Howl Ensemble and Mankes, while DJ Viso will be spinning some records. A splendid time is guaranteed for all.

Next week we're playing at Vessel 11 (Rotterdam) with Laura Palmer. And after that, we'll do a short tour through France and Belgium in October (see agenda for more info).

During all of those gigs, Labasheeda will be expanded to a quartet for the about half of the set, featuring Francesco 'Fuzz' Frabollini on bass.
